BIOSHOCK PS3 AT E3
We have a bunch of new information about BioShock PS3 coming out of E3 this year, along with some shiny new screenshots (which I've included below.) Stay tuned to your favorite E3 news coverage RSS feed for more information about BioShock as the days go on (I'm sure you'll hear some detailed reports about the new content demos our producer gave!) In the meantime, here's a rundown of all the information, new and old, that we' talked about and showed off at E3 this year.
Melissa Miller, BioShock PS3 Senior Producer, demoed some of the new downloadable content that will be available for BioShock on the PS3, called Challenge Rooms. These Challenge Rooms are being developed by a team at 2K Boston, and offer a new kind of gameplay that asks players to think creatively about the tools available to them in Rapture, and rethink how they use them. These challenges cover a wide variety of gameplay, from puzzle elements to the more traditional combat found in BioShock, and are thought of as pulp adventures outside of the BioShock narrative. Each Challenge Room has the look and feel of Rapture, and are accessed immediately through the main menu upon download.
The Challenge Room demonstrated at E3 right now is being called "A Shocking Turn of Events." In it, you must rescue a Little Sister from the top of a Ferris Wheel, but the only tools at your disposal are the limited resources you can scrounge up in the room itself. You're going to have to be in top BioShock form to master this challenge.
Stay tuned for more information about BioShock PS3 -- we'll be updating you about more features in the coming days and weeks!
