WINNING CULT OF RAPTURE HAIKUS
When I unveiled the exclusive Cult of Rapture XBL gamerpics and theme, I also started up an informal contest on the forums where Rapturians could write haikus about BioShock. The best 20 haikus would receive a gamerpic pack or a theme, and have their entries posted here.

The sound of water:
Drip drop. Drip drop. Drip drop. Drip.
Madness is catching.
This utopia;
has dreamt the impossible
but screams failure now
Mutating and cold.
innocent insanity.
Twisted miracle.
Do you spare her life
Or do you take her last breath
You are now her god
What cruel life is this?
Rusting on the ocean floor
You kill to survive.
Vision turned sour
Sinking deep by the hour
Rapture awaits you
Insane corruption
Ominous and eerie sounds
Rapture's tragic fate
Trapped under water
We can only stand and drown
Should've learnt to swim
Adam users need
Some corrective surgery
AHH WHERE IS MY FACE?!
The choices are clear
With moralities aside:
To change or to die.
A watery grave,
Isolated, yet hostile
Descend if you dare
Dare I, bathysphere?
Horror ahead, unbeknownst.
Fate awaits below.
Far beneath the waves,
Ruined Rapture in turmoil;
Echoes in the deep.
We were human once
But now we are simply ghosts
Walking halls alone
A gorgeous city
of advanced philosophy!
...Nice try, anyway
Men created guns
Andrew created chaos
Slugs created war
clots of neon light
at the bottom of the sea
lobster pot of dreams
But things fall apart
Man betrayed, children abused
Humans turn demons
You feel you're changing
Ecstacy comes with power
Adam, now like air
Signs of a past age
Gone is all humanity
Consequence of greed
...and although these Rapturians have already received awards, their poems were worthy of honorable mentions.
What has Rapture shown
Docters, Artists, Architects
Can NOT get along
I walk in the halls
Behold the shame of Rapture
Shelter men no more
the damp cold water
seeping in all around me
welcome to rapture
