BIOSHOCK HEADED TO A THEATER NEAR YOU
Last week cult members rejoiced over the news that BioShock will be made into a feature length film. The movie will be made by Universal Pictures and directed by Gore Verbinski, the mastermind behind "Pirates of the Caribbean", and John Logan, the screenwriter behind "Gladiator" and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," is in negotiations to write the script.

In my internet wanderings yesterday, I happened upon a blog post at www.ripten.com about a guy who made some fantastic fan concept art for his vision of a BioShock 2. Now, I think it was the image with the gigantic whale that really made my jaw drop, but I wrote in to Ripten to find this wonderful artist, because I had to thank him. Dedication to a game like this just doesn't come every day.
I finally tracked down Ben Mauro, who was all but too happy to provide me with the artwork he did for a class, and a bit of a background on the project.

BIOSHOCK WINS AT G.A.N.G. AWARDS
BioShock's sound and music swept the 6th Annual G.A.N.G. Awards, taking the top prize in eight different categories.
A GAMER'S TATTOO
Flynn DeMarco, avid gamer, wonderful journalist, and huge fan of BioShock, put up an article concerning his first gaming tattoo.
His choice? Three black links on each of his wrists.

ASSOCIATED PRESS NAMED BIOSHOCK BEST GAME OF 2007
AP named BioShock the top game of 2007, hailing the game "a first-person shooter turned morality play, a thinking person's action game, a piece of electronic fiction with a soul. There are many positive ways to describe this gripping game and they're all true. There's just nothing else like this eerie vision of an undersea social experiment gone horribly wrong."
