It’s that season again.
The season where we spend more time indoors - even in good weather. The season where we eat ridiculous amounts of Hot Pockets, greasy pizza, and MSG - laden Chinese food. The season where 12 hour workdays are far too common and 6 day workweeks are a fond memory.
It’s the season that comes at the end of every product development cycle, where Feature Complete becomes Alpha becomes Beta becomes Cert become Gold. The season where we put the finishing touches on a product that we hope will delight the audience.
It’s that season.
But it’s also the beginning of that other season.
The one where fans will get a new chance to experience our game in a new light. The season in which journalists, bloggers, and audio casters once again dissect every aspect of our work: sometimes to criticize, sometimes to imbue virtues upon the product that we may or may not have ever intended. The one where gamers compare stories of that special moment.
It is the season that we work years to achieve, because nothing feels so good as to see people enjoy the product of our hearts and souls.
